'We agreed with Marjorie Taylor Greene' on Bidenomics, White House quips

The White House highlighted Monday recent comments made by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) saying "Bidenomics," President Joe Biden's economic platform, is part of the tradition that created Social Security and Medicare.

Greene has previously attacked Biden's policies as socialist giveaways, but White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre sought to flip her most recent comments into an endorsement of the president's policies during Monday's press briefing.

"I'm sure she'll be very shocked that I'm saying this, but we agreed with Marjorie Taylor Greene, which is not something that we say very often," Jean-Pierre stated at the top of the briefing. "Over the weekend, congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene criticized Bidenomics as being in line with FDR's creation of Social Security, Lyndon Johnson's creation of Medicare. She also bizarrely attacked Bidenomics because it's reducing poverty in rural areas."

"We agree with her all around on this. We are opposed to rural poverty," she continued. "And the president is committed to protect Medicare and committed to protect Social Security, as you heard from him over and over again over the past several months."

Jean-Pierre joked that the White House had been "aware" of Taylor Greene's past opposition to Biden's policies and that Biden himself "looks forward to visiting her district" soon "to highlight those good paying jobs and the differences that they are making in the lives of real people on the ground in Georgia."
