The national average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas on Tuesday is $3.563, down from $3.565 on Monday but up from $3.541 a week ago, according to AAA.

The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Maryland is $3.549, a hike from $3.524 yesterday. One week ago, it was $3.574.
Virginia
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Virginia is $3.415, below the national average but up from Monday's price of $3.413. It was significantly lower at $3.348 this time last week.
Washington, D.C.
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in Washington, D.C., is $3.692, above the national average. On Monday, the price was $3.703, and last week, it was $3.710.
California
The average price for a gallon of regular-grade gas in California is significantly above the national average at $4.905. On Monday, the price was $4.910, and one week ago, it was $4.882.
New York
In New York, the average price is $3.675, 3 cents more than on Monday. Last week, it was $3.676.

Texas
The average price in Texas sits well below the national average at $3.168. On Monday, the price was $3.173, and last week, it was $3.175.
