House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) declared the Democratic Party the party of censorship after a tense hearing on Thursday.
Jordan gave the Democrats that moniker after House Democrats had several contentious exchanges with Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. during a hearing focused on censorship.

"They have been after this guy since the second day of the Biden administration. There is an email that goes to Twitter from the White House that says, 'Take down this tweet ASAP,' and the tweet is from Robert F. Kennedy, and there is nothing in that tweet that is wrong. Everything is factually accurate, and the subject line of the email says, 'RFK misinformation,' but it wasn’t misinformation, it was accurate, but even if it was, the First Amendment protects that as well," Jordan said on Fox News's Hannity.
"The Democrat Party has become the party of censorship, the party that doesn't embrace the most important liberty we have, our right to talk, our right to speak and to speak in a political fashion and not be harassed and targeted. But they did it to the most famous name in Democratic politics for the past three-quarters of a century, the Kennedy name, and they are so committed to the censorship they are even going after him," he continued.
The hearing featured various tense moments between Kennedy and Democratic lawmakers, including an exchange with Del. Stacey Plaskett (D-VI) when she attempted to link Kennedy to former President Donald Trump.

Kennedy contested the accusation and also denied accusations that he had made antisemitic comments in the past.
The hearing held by the House Weaponization Committee on Thursday discussed the topic of censorship, with Kennedy being one of the witnesses brought by the GOP members of the committee.
