Ralph Norman 'not ruling anything out' as he's urged to primary Lindsey Graham

Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC) isn't ruling out a primary challenge to Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) in 2026.

After Graham was booed onstage during a large rally for former President Donald Trump, Norman was approached by several groups and people about taking him on in the 2026 Republican primary.

However, the Washington Examiner understands this isn't at the forefront of Norman's mind.

"Rep. Norman is not ruling anything out but has made no decisions yet on future elections. He remains firmly committed to serving South Carolina's 5th District in the House and doing everything within his ability to restore fiscal sanity and conservative values to Washington," spokesman Austin Livingston said in a statement.

Representatives for Graham did not respond to the Washington Examiner's request for comment.

In a poll from Winthrop University last year, more than half of the South Carolinians disapproved of Graham, but 65% of Republicans approved of him.

In comparison, fellow Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) was found to have a 66% approval rating among the general public in South Carolina, as well as nearly 90% approval among Republicans.

As he was booed and even slammed as a "traitor" during the July 1 Trump rally in Pickens County, which drew a reported 50,000 attendees, Graham pleaded, "Calm down for a second. … I was born in this county."
