Byron York says House Republicans are pushing for Hunter Biden plea deal to be rejected

House Republicans want Hunter Biden's plea deal to be rejected by the judge on the case, The Washington Examiner’s Byron York said during an interview Wednesday.

York appeared on Wednesday’s episode of America’s Newsroom on Fox News to discuss Hunter Biden’s plea deal ahead of the court hearing. York said Republican lawmakers want the president’s son to be found guilty of felony tax evasion based on IRS whistleblower testimony. The IRS whistleblowers alleged that the Justice Department interfered in their investigation of Hunter Biden.

“What they are trying to do now, these Republicans, are send their information to the judge and say you need to consider this,” said York. “Don’t just accept this plea bargain. It’s a result of favoritism inside the Justice Department.

“What we see in the last 12, 18 hours is a lot of fighting back and forth between the two sides about whether that information should even be in the case,” he added.

On Wednesday morning, Hunter Biden appeared in a Delaware court, where he is expected to plead guilty to his two federal tax charges as part of the "sweetheart deal," where he is expected to avoid jail time after reaching a pretrial diversion with prosecutors that will resolve a felony gun charge.
