WEX MIN: Zelensky annoyed with Israel attention? NYC mayor under investigation, Emperor's new gender
Ukraine is looking at a stalemate 20 months into the war with Russia. Zelensky says American aid and the world's focus going to Israel is not helping him.
New Yorkers are withdrawing their support for Mayor Eric Adams as federal authorities investigate whether his 2021 campaign masked large funds from the Turkish government by funneling them through straw donors.
Has your man thought about the Roman empire today? A woke museum in the United Kingdom is now reclassifying a third-century Roman emperor as a transgender woman. With a full switch to she/her pronouns. The gender proclamation comes in the wake of classical texts appearing to mention the emperor's request to be called by female titles quote "[Call] me not Lord, for I am a Lady.”

Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley's newfound momentum in the GOP primary suggests she may be overtaking Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) in the race to compete as the alternative to former President Donald Trump.
Breakout performances at the first three primary debates and stinging rebukes of her competitors have all helped her rise in the field as others have begun to drop out of the race.

Biden says Hamas hostage deal a 'testament' to administration's diplomacy
President Joe Biden celebrated the Wednesday deal brokered between Israel and Hamas for a temporary ceasefire and prisoner exchange.
The United States and Qatar served as key negotiators throughout the process, which resulted in a temporary ceasefire of at least four days in exchange for the release of 50 prisoners taken hostage by Hamas in its Oct. 7 attack.

Israel and Hamas agree to temporary ceasefire; Weather may impact Thanksgiving travel
The Israeli government has approved a deal that, if fully executed, will secure the release of dozens of hostages who were kidnapped during the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks in exchange for a temporary ceasefire, added humanitarian aid, and the release of Palestinians held in Israel. The ceasefire is expected to last for four to five days, and Israel will release three Palestinians in its custody for roughly 50 hostages, all women and children, Hamas releases. The deal also includes a provision that the Red Cross would be granted access to the hostages, which they have previously not had.
Preparations are in full swing at the Four Seasons Washington D.C., as they prepare for their 24th annual Thanksgiving feast for first responders. The staff at the Four Seasons are making sure these local heroes working the holiday wont go hungry. D.C. first responders are invited to stop by between 11 am to 1 pm on Thanksgiving day to dine in or pick up their feast to go. It features all the favorites -- mashed potatoes, turkey, and stuffing, all created by Executive Chef Bilal Wshah and his team.
Millions of people can expect to have their holiday travel affected by severe storms this Thanksgiving week, and some could even see their flights grounded or delayed due to rain and snowstorms projected to hit both coasts. Several states have issued travel advisories for the more than 55 million people who are expected to travel for the holidays. The worst day for travel due to weather conditions is Tuesday, with heavy wind and rain expected along the East Coast.

Talking turkey: Retailers carve out plans to keep theft down on Black Friday
Retailers across the country are upping their security game, working with local law enforcement officials, adding in-store cameras, and taking other measures ahead of Black Friday so that the unofficial start of the holiday shopping season doesn't put their businesses in the red.
Major retailers such as Target, Walgreens, CVS, and Sephora have already started to remove high-value items like perfume from store shelves and replace them with tester samples to keep people with sticky fingers away. Others have turned to self-serving locking cabinets, tethering items to steel cables, and smart shopping carts that have sensors like cameras, weight scales, and bar code scanners that allow them to detect the items customers are picking and paying for and which ones they are not.

GOP infighting is putting a controversial candidate and the House majority at risk. The House speaker battle is coming back to haunt House Republicans who relied on Rep. Kevin McCarthy for significant fundraising and campaign boosting. Rep. Derrick Van Orden’s reelection campaign may be the first to fall victim.
Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley is outperforming former President Donald Trump against President Joe Biden in the key swing state of Michigan, the former South Carolina governor is beating Biden in the Great Lakes State by 11 percentage points, 47%-36%, while Trump only leads by 5 points, 46%-41%.
As we count down to turkey time… Millions of people can expect to have their holiday travel affected due to rain and snowstorms projected to hit both coasts. TSA is expecting 30 million people to travel by air this thanksgiving.

The possibility of advanced artificial intelligence and the idea that it could disrupt the economy or even threaten humanity may have played a role in the chaos in recent days at leading AI firm OpenAI.
In the absence of a clear statement from OpenAI about why its board unexpectedly fired Sam Altman as CEO on Friday, some industry insiders theorize that the split may have occurred over the company's approach to "artificial general intelligence," or AGI.

Biden might be Democrats' biggest problem convincing black and Latino voters not to support Trump
President Joe Biden's poll numbers one year out from the 2024 election have largely been underwhelming, and Democrats' chances of holding on to the White House may come down to two voting blocs they have seriously relied upon in recent history.
Latino and black voters have typically voted with clear majorities for Democratic presidential candidates, but former President Donald Trump, Biden's most likely rival in 2024, has been faring unusually well in recent polling, and the trend may be hard for the Left to reverse before November of next year.

Senate Judiciary Republicans pressure Democrats to tamp down Supreme Court investigation
If Senate Democrats plan to subpoena conservative judicial activists as part of a Supreme Court ethics investigation, Republicans say they must go after liberal advocates the same way.
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Dick Durbin (D-IL) has sought to authorize subpoenas for influential conservative judicial activist Leonard Leo and GOP megadonor Harlan Crow, defending the subpoenas as necessary after the pair's “defensive, dismissive refusals” to cooperate with a congressional investigation. Now, Republicans have proposed more than 150 additional subpoenas to broaden an investigation they say is one-sided against conservative justices on the high court.

Austin announces military package to Ukraine; Biden confirms hostage deal is near
Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin announced a new military aid package for Ukraine of up to $100 million during an unannounced trip to Kyiv on Monday.
This aid package, which will be provided through the Presidential Drawdown Authority and comes from existing U.S. stockpiles, includes Stinger anti-aircraft missiles, one High Mobility Artillery Rocket System, and additional ammunition (155mm and 105mm artillery rounds), among other weapons and gear.
President Joe Biden said on Monday he believes a deal to free hostages being held by the Hamas militant group in Gaza is near — although specifics remain unclear. Speaking to a reporter at the White House’s annual turkey-pardoning event, Biden was asked if the United States is close to securing the release of hostages taken by Hamas in the Gaza Strip as discussions with Israeli officials are in the works.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre repeatedly defended President Joe Biden on Monday in the face of mounting concern that he's too old to do the job. Biden turned 81 on Monday, and numerous polls show that most people have reservations about his age and that of former President Donald Trump, Biden's likely Republican opponent in the 2024 general election.

Talking turkey: Why the cost of the holiday dinner has risen so much in recent years
The soaring food prices over the past few years will take a toll on families nationwide this week as they prepare their Thanksgiving spreads.
Food prices have been driven up in part because of supply-side factors, such as the higher cost of the fuels needed to transport grain and livestock, as well as the broader inflationary environment. Inflation has soared in recent years, and the overall consumer price index is up more than 18% from the start of 2020.

A British doctor who previously worked at the Shifa Hospital in Gaza, which Israeli officials have claimed Hamas uses as a major command post, said certain areas of the hospital were off-limits to him and other healthcare providers.
Israeli officials have claimed that Hamas operates a command and control base both within and underneath the hospital, which would constitute a war crime, while Israeli forces raided the hospital last week and said they've found evidence that some of the Israeli hostages who were taken during the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks were transported through it to their underground tunnel network.

We need a president who is going to restore law and order in the United States of America, not letting any of these criminals run ransack over the stores that you see images of almost nightly," Abbott said. "We need a president who is going to restore world peace as opposed to this outbreak of warfare under Joe Biden. We need Donald J. Trump back as our president of the United States of America.”
