LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln Police said two robbery suspects are still on the loose after a vehicle sale gone wrong in northeast Lincoln Sunday evening.

According to LPD, officers were sent to Frontline Auto near 48th and Adams on a report of a robbery a little after 7:30 p.m. Police said the robbery happened during “a pre-arranged meeting for the sale of a vehicle” at the car dealership.

LPD said the suspects were there to look at a vehicle the dealership owner believed they wanted to buy, but instead they stole cash before driving away.

LPD says the suspects fled east, where they eventually ditched a disabled, black Chevy Malibu in the area of 87th and Adams.

“After an extensive search of the area utilizing {air support from the Nebraska State Patrol} and LPD K-9 units, the suspects were not located,” Lincoln Police stated.

“One suspect is described as a 30-year-old black male, six-feet tall, skinny build, wearing glasses. The other suspect is described as a 30-year-old black male, five-and-a-half feet tall, heavy build,” LPD stated.

Police were searching a large area of northeast Lincoln for a couple hours during their attempt to locate the two suspects. Much of their focus included an area between 84th to 98th, Adams to Leighton.

LPD says the investigation remains active, and anyone with information about the incident should call 402-441-6000 or Lincoln Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
