Wednesday Forecast: Warming back up for the middle of the work week...
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A frontal boundary dropping south across the region has brought noticeably cooler air to our Tuesday forecast...along with a thunderstorm chance for areas near-and-south of that boundary for Tuesday evening...
As a cold front approaches from the west...the aforementioned boundary will lift north as a warm front, bringing back a brief return of hot and more humid weather to 10-11 Country on Wednesday.
As the cold front to our west sweeps across Nebraska on Thursday...cooler air and thunderstorm chances will return to much of the state...with the best chance for ‘storms over the eastern-half of Nebraska where the temperatures will remain a bit warmer for a longer period of the day and more moisture will be available as the front swings from west-to-east.
There is some severe weather potential with these frontal systems, with the best chance for strong-to-severe ‘storms coming Thursday afternoon and into Thursday night...with some precipitation lingering into early Friday morning. Please stay up-to-date with any changes to these potential risks over the next 48 hours...things can-and-do change rather quickly this time of year.
Another cold front is expected to slide through the region late-Saturday into early-Sunday...but at this time weather models are indicating a mainly dry frontal passage...with cooler, more comfortable weather conditions the result for Sunday...Labor Day Monday...and even next Tuesday.
