Tensky 208BT

Tensky 208BT
I liked the Tensky 207 so much I decided to buy the 208BT because of the extra features.I’ve been wearing this watch for about 8 weeks now, so I’m updating my original review as I feel I have had enough time with it to know how good it is, and I have been wearing a Garmin on the other wrist the whole time for comparison.Everything works well with this watch. I’ve tested it against the Garmin and it came up with very close stats. I think the Tensky’s are the very few smartwatches that come with the stress meter and numbers seem pretty accurate with how I’m feeling, so it’s nice to be reassured by the watch. I often wake from a dream and look at the time, & I have been checking out the app REM sleep in the morning and it seems to pick up well on the sleeping app even though they state it is only a guide. The start & finish time of sleep is really quite accurate, but occasionally it misses the real time sleep. I can put this up, (& also most of the other faults of the watch) due to me having very heavily tattooed arms, and I really can only wear any smartwatch under my right wrist. The VeryFit app is really well done. You can click on the blocks of time, and the app will give you the starting time & ending time exactly for that particular block. This is heaps better than a lot of other apps I use, as you normally get the time block period on the bottom of the chart and you are then left to count out the time frames for each particular block. This saves time if you want to work out what is going on during whatever feature you are using at that particular moment. You can do this with every feature just by clicking on the individual block. The app is easy to use, & within a few days you can get into the finer details of it. I really do like this, & wish the Garmin app would do the same thing. The stress meter works well with how I’m feeling at the current moment, and it pars up with the Garmin again very closely, although Garmin stress is measured differently. The heart rate meter is always either exact, or 1 beat different with the Garmin, and that could be because both are on different wrists.I find sometimes it becomes stuck on a number, but once you run the heartbeat meter it sorts itself out pretty quickly.Sp02 is accurate as well.Steps, seem to be hit and miss with me, and depends on what I’m doing at the current time while I’m moving around. They could count 50 steps incorrectly (up or down) with every 500 steps. And if you are carrying anything in your arms it won’t count your steps correctly, as it seems that your arms need to be swinging a little.Exercise is well done with plenty of different types, as well as “intelligent exercise recognition”. The calorie count is a hundred points less normally compared to the Garmin during the same exercise. So I feel a little cheated on that.It states the watch is 5 atmospheres. I have worn it in the shower with hot water and it runs fine. The water does affect the screen by scrolling through. I guess the screen is quite sensitive. I haven’t worn it swimming yet.It picks up sms messages well.Alexa’s works well. All the other functions work well as stated. You can make a call with it.Music works great. The decibel meter seems accurate although chews out the battery quickly, so I leave it off and only use it when I want to know how noisy my surroundings are.Flashlight and Calculator both work, so you can illuminate your surroundings enough coming from the bathroom in the middle of the night. It picks up the weather report great. It is easy to set up.This Tensky model won on all the important points that I wanted it to do for me, so that’s why I chose to get another Tensky. If they keep coming up with well priced and good tracking options, then I believe it won’t be too long until they are the go to brand for those that don’t care whether their device says Apple etc. or no visible brand on it. As the picture shows, you can also add a decent watch band to it if the silicone one bugs you. It is a standard 20mm band. I like mine Velcro as they feel nice, don’t feel tight on the wrist, and are still easy to clean. If Tensky could add a core temperature sensor, and if the app could allow you to add numbers for Example: When the watch said I went to sleep at 1am but I really lay there until 2am, then I could change that number to the correct one like the Garmin does, then I’ll be first one to put my hand up.And I will be quite happy to pay $150-200 for one with these features as this watch does what it says it does, is really closely accurate comparing it with high end sensors from Garmin. If you want a cheap smartwatch full of features that is almost as accurate as the higher priced cousins, (bar slightly shaky step counting) then this watch is for you.

I've had a Fitbit for years, but sadly, it died recently. I read the reviews on Amazon for the various Smart Watches available and was impressed by the number of people who were quite satisfied with the purchase of a Tensky watch.
I must say I am happy with my choice. It does all that I require - counts my steps, monitors my heart rate and my sleep cycles. It receives text messages and lets me know about incoming phone calls. The watch has a nice, big display and is fairly easy to navigate. It charges quickly and is very comfortable to wear.
I prefer the style and functions of a Smart watch, even though I'm not a gym junkie or a fitness fanatic. Therefore, the Tensky is an ideal choice for someone on a budget who can't justify the cost of a brand name Smart Watch.

This watch works well and the battery life, which was important to me, is very good. You can turn off some functions if not required for even better battery life. I use the watch just as a general watch and not so much for the fitness trackers etc. The heart rate monitor does not appear to be accurate all the time. The number of free watch faces that are available from the app is very good. Notifications and taking calls on the watch are functions that work well. I would have liked to have been able to receive notifications from other apps ie Ring Doorbell etc but it seems I can only receive notifications from the given list of apps in the watch app. This is the reason I only gave 4 stars instead of 5.

The heart rate meter is always either exact, or 1 beat different with the Garmin, and that could be because both are on different wrists.
I find sometimes it becomes stuck on a number, but once you run the heartbeat meter it sorts itself out pretty quickly.

Sp02 is accurate as well.

Steps, seem to be hit and miss with me, and depends on what I’m doing at the current time while I’m moving around. They could count 50 steps incorrectly (up or down) with every 500 steps. And if you are carrying anything in your arms it won’t count your steps correctly, as it seems that your arms need to be swinging a little.

Exercise is well done with plenty of different types, as well as “intelligent exercise recognition”. The calorie count is a hundred points less normally compared to the Garmin during the same exercise. So I feel a little cheated on that.

It states the watch is 5 atmospheres. I have worn it in the shower with hot water and it runs fine. The water does affect the screen by scrolling through. I guess the screen is quite sensitive. I haven’t worn it swimming yet.

It picks up sms messages well.

Alexa’s works well.

All the other functions work well as stated.

You can make a call with it.

Music works great.

The decibel meter seems accurate although chews out the battery quickly, so I leave it off and only use it when I want to know how noisy my surroundings are.

Flashlight and Calculator both work, so you can illuminate your surroundings enough coming from the bathroom in the middle of the night.

It picks up the weather report great.

It is easy to set up.

This Tensky model won on all the important points that I wanted it to do for me, so that’s why I chose to get another Tensky.

If Tensky could add a core temperature sensor, and if the app could allow you to add numbers for Example: When the watch said I went to sleep at 1am but I really lay there until 2am, then I could change that number to the correct one like the Garmin does, then I’ll be first one to put my hand up.

And I will be quite happy to pay $150-200 for one with these features as this watch does what it says it does, is really closely accurate comparing it with high end sensors from Garmin.

If you want a cheap smartwatch full of features that is almost as accurate as the higher priced cousins, (bar slightly shaky step counting) then this watch is for you.

I loved the design and colour, it allows you to combine it with several clothes and styles. I am a swimming teacher and the watch has helped me to calculate the time of my classes. When I do exercise, it helps me to track it, as well as to do breath training, plus the notifications and calls are also another great function.

Have had it for 1 week and loving the functions. The size and colour is great. I can keep track of my step count easily with this watch. The battery life so good. Only charged once when I received it and still has 30% left after one week. Can answer the calls and read all new messages and notifications from facebook/ instagram. Also can create your own watch face from using a picture from the gallery. I’m really enjoying this watch and highly recommend it

I read a lot of reviews over a few months before I purchased. I was worried that for the price it was “too good to be true.” But instead I am extremely happy with the watch.
It was discounted at the time but even for the full price it’s still only about 10% of the cost of an Apple Watch (in Australia at least.) I love Apple products but the watches are too dear & I don’t need all the bells and whistles.
It’s perfect for me - it tells the time accurately and counts my steps. You can do other things with it like receive calls, texts & emails but I’ve got my iPhone for that.
I also waited for more than a month to review in case it “died” but it is still going strong. At the price I wouldn’t mind if it only lasted one or two years. Then I can buy another one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heart rate alert doesn't work well/very fit app doesn't work well at all

Update****the company reached out to me quickly to get this resolved. They offered to give full refund or for a new product to be returned. Even said to keep the watch to continue testing and make suggestions for improvement. They mentioned the watch could have a bad senor or firmware. This company really is a legit great customer company. I was truly stressed over the research I did before buying the watch and it having issues but how they have conducted themselves proves that they care and want the best for their customers and are willing to make things right and knowledgeable as to what could be wrong with the watch. Thank you.
Previous review:The watch itself has a lot of features. But the only app it seems to pair with is very fit. Which I should had read the reviews every since a march update it doesn't stay connected.. I have had that experience too. My heart rate alert doesn't alert me. The watch battery last for about a day and half. That is with calls sent to phone, Facebook, text, heart alert, Alexa. But hardly had any calls/texfacebook alerts. Alexa keeps disconnecting. Phone doesn't keep a running min by min heart rate. You press the button to see what you heart rate is just like on regular smart watches. Sleep seems accurate. My heart rate has been saying wear tighter but it is tight. The sleep isn't being recorded. Waiting on the company to respond on the issues I am having. Sent a message to seller and have not gotten response.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Great and Easy to Set Up

This watch works great and is easy to set up. My previous watch was an ID205L and also worked with the VeryFit app. Since this watch is an upgrade from that one, including the phone call feature, I thought I'd try it. I'm glad I did. The day before the watch arrived, I received an email from the seller, Tensky, thanking me for making the purchase. The email included detailed instructions, both in the body of the email and in a downloadable document, on how to set up and operate the watch. The watch was exceptionally easy to set up and sync'd with my phone and the app almost immediately. The watch was receiving notifications and phone calls in a matter of minutes. After that, the lengthiest part of the setup was inputting my personal information, goals, etc. There is also an "After Puchase" Facebook page that you can join and share information with other users which I joined and put to quick use. Initially, I experienced some battery life issues. I would have to recharge the watch every day. So, I reached out to the Facebook group for help. Within a short time, I received a comment listing some things I could try to increase the battery life. As it turns out, I think my problem had to do with the fact that since I already had the VeryFit app installed for my old watch, I just sync'd the new watch with it. Why this would make a difference, I don't know. Anyway, I reset the watch, uninstalled and reinstalled the app and started from scratch. That has seemed to solve my problem as I can now go about seven days without having to recharge the watch. I have to admit that I have never purchased an item anywhere and had the seller reach out to me like Tensky did. The "After Purchase" Facebook group is also a big plus in sharing information and learning from other users. Although I haven't tried "all" of the available functions of the watch, the ones I have used seem to be fairly accurate. The step counter is right in line with my google fit app and the health apps are in line with actual readings. Receiving and making phone calls is an added plus, especially with the new "distracted driving" laws these days. And, with Alexa built in, I am able to control my household smart outlets. There are also over 100 different watch faces to choose from. I am very pleased with this Tensky smartwatch and highly recommend it.

I have had the watch for a few weeks now and I find it a great watch for the price. It tracks everything I need tracked. There are probably more things that it can do that I haven't learned yet. Battery life is good and screen is easy to read.
If there is one thing I would want to improve it is a different watch band, which I plan to get.

The set up using the app was very easy to follow with the instructions included. After three days of use, the steps seem accurate and data transfer to the Fit app is a bit slow at times. A simple refresh gets the job done.
