QUESTIONS

How does the Pupsicle work? The Pupsicle unscrews in the middle, making it super easy to fill, clean, and use as a dog distraction. Because it opens in the middle, you can fill it with extremely long-lasting treats or even pre-freeze treats to use later when you need them!
How big is each Pupsicle? Our X-Large size is 4.78" in diameter and 3.8" tall. Our large Pupsicle is 3.6" in diameter and 2.8" tall and our small Pupsicle is 2.9" in diameter and 2.2" tall.
What is it made of? The Pupsicle is made from a non-toxic, BPA and Phthalate free natural rubber, very similar to other leading dog toys on the market.
Is the Pupsicle messy? We’ve put a lot of work into making the cleanest treat toy out there, especially given that a dog will lick at it for 30 minutes or more! Slots on the top prevent drool from pooling, there are no holes on the bottom, and it’s weighted to stay upright so it won’t tip out food. All in all, it’s about as clean a toy as it gets!
Where are your products made? All of our treats are made from high quality ingredients at facilities located here in the US. The Pupsicle toy and Treat Tray are made at facilities located in China that we have thoroughly vetted to meet the highest standards possible.

Really good product
Size large. Had it about 3 weeks, use it every couple of days. It's a bit pricey but worth it. My 70lb power chewer tried to chew his way in. Did some damage (see photo) but it still works fine. He doesn't really chew it much any more, but I supervise him more closely now when I give it to him. Keeps him occupied and quiet for 15 min or so. Screwing the lid on is a little finicky, it works better for me if I put the lid loaded with the treat on the bottom and then screw the body on from the top. The mould for freezing your own treats works great. He loves sweet potatoes, applesauce, and peanut butter mixed up. Bought another one for my older dog.

We bought this hoping this would keep our dogs preoccupied and it certainly worked! Our lab and German shepherd loved it! It took about 20 or so minutes for them to finish and they loved the taste of the treats.

The Pupsicle is durable even after the dogs tried biting it at first so no issues there.

Great item for all dogs!
Reviewed in the United States on July 24, 2023
So far, I have no complaints. I can see that this toy might not work well for some combinations of dogs and people, but for my two current dogs (blue heeler and small terrier), this thing, plus the treat mold, is GREAT!

I love that the dogs get it more or less fully emptied, and it is washable. I love that I can pre-prepare a whole bunch of frozen fillings by using the treat mold (sold separately).

Yes, I agree that this is a very expensive item, especially if you buy the treat mold along with the toy. I bought two toys at a very reduced price on Prime day, also bought the treat mold at full price, and consider the combined purchase a great value at this cost. The current price (for the toy) is comparable to the cost of an extra-large Toppl, and I've seen it at a price similar to the current cost of a large Toppl. I checked the current price of the XXL "extreme" Kong I needed to use for one dog, and the current price on a different web site is almost the same as the Woof Pupsicle.

To answer questions and issues I've seen mentioned...

* My terrier weighs 16 pounds and uses the large toy with no problem. Possibly it is minimally less thoroughly cleaned out, but I'm not positive about that. My only warning would be that you ought to keep track of calories and/or what you put in it because you could potentially give a small dog way too many empty calories from "junk food."

* The toy is still usable without the treat mold. Just fill up the solid half of the toy and stick it in the freezer overnight, same as you would do with a Kong, except it takes up less space.

* Do introduce it properly, by initially giving it with NON-frozen and sticky food in it. An even more slow, careful, step-wise introduction may be necessary if your dog is a destructo-dog.

* The terrier takes about 20 minutes to empty it of frozen canned dog food. That's non-trivial, and I'm not sure why people are complaining. The heeler takes less time (maybe 15 minutes?), but it's still an amount of time that is helpful for me, and this licking activity seems to be especially calming for her (as compared to using the food puzzle toys with kibble).

* It initially was extremely difficult to open and close the thing. I was best able to do it with a "light" touch, not pulling and making sure not to press the two surfaces together. After not very long, it became much easier. I didn't need to use oil. If you have trouble getting it closed, it became a lot easier after the solid part was frozen (while the vented part stayed at room temperature).

* I agree with others that a larger version might be nice, but a larger version might make dogs more likely to destroy the toy in place of emptying it by focused licking.

* I'm not sure that any of these toys are truly indestructible. People are mentioning Kongs. Well, my Kongs have required periodic replacement. They have tooth marks and eventually get "modified" to where pieces might get torn off and consumed. For one dog, I had to upgrade to the XXL-size Extreme (black) version, and she also put tooth marks in that.

I own a fortune's worth of Kongs, Toppls, and a couple similar food toys, and they all have their issues. They have holes in them that allow liquid to immediately come out (before freezing occurs). They are bulky and use up a lot of space in the freezer, and the unusual shapes make them non-stackable. For me, Kong toys are time-consuming to fill and difficult to clean. My dogs couldn't get the very end cleaned out without throwing the Kong around (making a big mess), and even then it wasn't fully clean. Some did end up with mold in that part of them. [It looks like new inventions, like plugs (or something like that), may solve some of the problems; I didn't have those.]

I mention the other toys only to say that this unique brilliant toy has seeming solved all those problems, and my dogs truly LOVE this toy as well. Be assured, I will update this review if anything changes.

This has been great to keep our 65lb shepherd busy. You can make your own treats to put in it or buy theirs. The bottom unscrews and is weighted so it doesn’t roll too easily. I make frozen treats and they last 20-30 minutes in here. Easy to wash and quiet on our wood floors. Seems like it will hold up really well even against some pretty intense chewing. High quality and nice simple packaging.

I have two dogs, a six month old Collie mix (30lbs) and a 1 year old staffie mix (21 lbs). They both love these treats. They lie quietly licking these treats for about 20 minutes, which is great when I need a bit of a distraction for them. I got a small size toy and a large size toy. The only problem I've had is when the licking turns to chewing and unfortunately, these are not the most durable. The damage to each toy was caused after the first use. The good news is that they are still usable, I just have to watch them the whole time so that they don't eat any chunks of the toy. I understand that you should always supervise your pet when they are playing with a toy but it sure negates the purpose of giving them a distraction so you can get work done, take a break etc.

I've purchased 2 of different sizes as my small dog always grabs the big one. I've also made lots of frozen refills and they both love licking them for as long as they stay frozen until they are gone, it's a significant amount of time. My large dog hasn't damaged them, but my little dog has incredibly sharp teeth and loves to chew and has managed to dig gouges into them and take small pieces off. With that being said they are holding up remarkably well compared to her other toys.

We got two XL popsicles for our 65 and 70 lb dogs. I was worried they might be too big, but they are fine and the dogs can eat their whole treat without needing to put a biscuit or anything under it as another reviewer had suggested.

Pros: the molds that work with these holders are way easier to fill than Kongs. These also make much less mess when the dogs are eating them; with a Kongs there would be a slimy mess of drool and melted food on whatever surface they were eaten on, but these seem to contain everything so our couch is much cleaner!

Cons: the only issue and reason I can’t give 5 stars is that these can be difficult to close correctly. It was super frustrating until I read the pupsicle website that suggests using oil to lubricate the threads. Now I spray a little bit of Pam on the inside of the pupsicle case before closing and it works like a breeze. Annoying to have to have this extra step, though.

Overall, a huge improvement over Kongs. I won’t be going back!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great toy to keep pups busy & distracted!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on February 3, 2024
This is excellent when filled and used with the frozen moulds of yoghurt or peanut butter.
Keeps my 9 month heavy chewer labrador pup busy for sometime - especially useful when sitting down to lunch/supper.
However you do have to take it away once finished sucking the frozen contents as he would destroy if left with it. After 2 uses it has some deep teeth marks where he has tried to open it.
