* Safety and Convenience
My deck is exposed to direct sunlight for at least six hours a day, which made me hesitant to buy a gas grill due to safety concerns. I previously used a charcoal grill, but it was not convenient for regular use. Pellet grillers caught my attention as a safer alternative, and after extensive research, I decided to purchase the Weber Searwood 600. This decision was primarily driven by its impressive safety features and the convenience it offers.
* Performance
Before settling on the Weber Searwood 600, I compared several other products, including models from Traeger and Camp Chef. While these brands are well-known, their maximum temperature of 500°F and the difficulty in achieving a proper sear made me hesitant. The Weber Searwood 600, on the other hand, addressed all my concerns with ease.
So far, I have grilled New York Strip Steak and Spareribs, and both turned out exceptionally well. The searing on the New York Strip Steak was perfect, creating a beautiful crust while keeping the inside tender and juicy. The Spareribs were equally impressive, turning out juicy and smoky, with a rich flavor that delighted my family. During the Sparerib BBQ process, the Weber Searwood 600 maintained a set temperature of 225°F for six hours, which I set via the app. The grill automatically fed pellets to maintain this consistent temperature, ensuring perfectly cooked ribs.
* Weber App
One of the standout features of the Weber Searwood 600 is its companion app. The Weber app is not only impressive but also incredibly convenient. It offers a variety of recipes, complete with ingredient lists and step-by-step grilling instructions. This feature has been a game-changer, making exploring new dishes easy and achieving perfect results every time.
* Final Thoughts
If you are considering buying a grill, I strongly recommend including the Weber Searwood 600 in your shopping list. It combines safety, convenience, and top-notch performance, making it an excellent choice for anyone looking to elevate their grilling experience. The Wi-Fi connectivity and user-friendly app add an extra layer of convenience, making this grill a standout option in the market. I am absolutely satisfied with my purchase and look forward to many more delicious meals on my Weber Searwood 600.
Instructions for use do not arrive with the smoker. The owner is advised to go to a Weber web site which I found to lack the level of detail and clarity that I prefer when using a new-to-me item. In all fairness, could have missed something like the amount of pellets to use, proper temperatures and more. My first go was with chicken breasts. Info for smoking this food item are all over the internet with recommendations for 225 degrees F which should take about an hour to reach an internal meat temperature of 165. After 4 hours of smoking, the chicken was still at about 150 degrees as measured by the Weber integrated thermomether and an independent hand held meat thermometer; they both agreed to the degree.
I have not had the opportunity to use the smoker again but will do so soon. I have high hopes.
Their pellet grills are defective by design. Work great, when they work. Scary when the auger and sensors get out of alignment, resulting in a "burn your house down" fire w temps over 1000 degrees, melting components. Warranty replacement? I'll let you know. Currently on 12th phone call, 9th email, with 5 different explanations why the part has not been shipped. Started with "Don't use the grill. We are excalating." as if dangerous, known defect. Current status - we don't have that part, but you can retrofit a similar part from another model, which would include splicing wires and eliminating electrical connectors. Classic buyout tactic - milk the new asset until customers figure out its gone down hill, then BK outfit after realizing a 50% ROI. Can't fault them; I'd do the same. But I also know better than to continue purchasing the brand.
We'll see how weber supports their product.
