Customers like the ease of cleaning with the robotic vacuum cleaner. They say the pattern gets everything, it has a smarter cleaning pattern than their previous robot vac, and the app-less cleaning is done quite logically. They love how their floors are cleaner and how much time this little guy saves them. They also say it does vacuum up both hard and soft floors and fluffs up carpet. Customers also mention that it's very easy to empty the canister, it holds up to 45 days of dirt, and that the dust cup has nary a spec inside.
"...We have a Golden Retriever that sheds like crazy and this keeps the mess to a minimum...." Read more
"...- The Shark unit has a predictable cleaning pattern. Once it has run several times, it'll create a decent map of your house...." Read more
"...This vacuum said it had a self-cleaning roller. I usually “grain of salt” those types of claims as just marketing lies...." Read more
"...However. Shark was EXTREMELY difficult to clean. My old Roomba had parts that popped right out, easily cleaned and sent back on the road...." Read more
Customers are mixed about the performance of the robotic vacuum cleaner. Some mention that it does a good job, picking up big clumps of hair and running great. However, others say that it still doesn't work properly, doesn't do well about getting right up along the trim, and that the Spot Cleaning mode doesn'’t work all that great.

Customers are mixed about the value of the robotic vacuum cleaner. Some mention that it's worth the price, and the pros far outweigh the cons. Others say that it’s a huge waste of money, terrible, and dumb as a box of rocks.
"...This Modle is a POS. Huge waste of money. Spent $560 on this thing you think it should work more then a couple days a week." Read more
"...time for set up and understanding it’s quirks, it is definitely worth the $$$ ...I’m very happy." Read more

"...This is quieter, lighter, and more affordable than the Roombas. How quiet this is compared to my old Roomba is amazing. The pets like that too...." Read more
Customers are mixed about the suction of the robotic vacuum cleaner. Some mention that it has great suction, and cleaning ability, while others say that it may randomly start vacuuming in the middle of the night, doesn't respect timezones, and has a problem with the dust bin clogging. Some say that the vacuum sucks up rugs, wires, anything that isn't hard wood or carpet, and leaves dirt and hair.
"Edit: Shark found a chunk of puppy poo and scooped it up so efficiently that I had a hard time finding the spot it came from. However...." Read more

Customers are mixed about the ease of use of the robotic vacuum cleaner. Some mention it's easy to set up, use, and utilizing the features. They say the mapping program is easy to do on the app. However, some customers say it'll get stuck and be frustrating to vacuum all the rooms. Customers are dissatisfied with the quality of the robotic vacuum cleaner. They mention that the app in particular has issues, the software is not that great, and the apps are not as robust as other robovac apps. They also say that the vacuum is not very smart and that the software from Shark sucks.
"...It does not go 45 days with the amount of dog hair we have but that was to be expected." Read more
"...did a great job of scraping the pet hair off the carpet, it bunched up in the dust bin and the base was not able to suck it up the 2nd time, I had..." Read more
"...They may well be right. In that case, the programming may be glitchy...." Read more
"...This Shark RV2310AE Matrix has a lot of nice features, in the app. The Shark RV2310AE Matrix will pick up pet hair...." Read more
Customers are dissatisfied with the stickiness of the robotic vacuum cleaner. They say it gets stuck now and then, in exactly the same places, and can get stuck in a room. The roller gets stuck a couple of times during the first cleaning, and the brush roll gets stuck. It gets stuck on larger debris, and sometimes it gets caught on apparently easy obstacles. On the first few passes, the vacuum consistently got stuck on the same area rug. The battery is low and the canister is stuck, and it needs to be put on the floor.

Without this functionality, it's just another dumb robot. Don't waste your time buying it for the "Mapping" functionality.
_________________________________________________________________________
I've been rocking at Roombak 699 for many years. Three batteries, countless brushes, and a new dustbin lever later, and I knew it was time for an upgrade.
I purchased this Shark unit, not really knowing what to expect. I should have done this a long time ago.
Let's start with the obvious:
- The Shark unit has a predictable cleaning pattern. Once it has run several times, it'll create a decent map of your house. You'll want to go in and create "rooms" or "zones" so you can tell it where you want it to clean (or don't). You can also create "no go zones" without having to stick those infrared, battery powered units all over the place. Once this is all set up, this unit will clean your house--taking as long as it takes. For my house, that usually means going back to the home unit to dump its collector a couple of times. Every now and then, it needs to recharge. Roomba didn't do that. It would zig and zag back and forth until it ultimately just lost charge and maybe it cleaned everything, but probably not.
- My Roomba was really loud. So loud, you couldnt' work or watch TV or carry on a conversation with it running. My kids even asked me not to run it at night because it woke them up (and it was downstairs and they were upstairs). The Shark unit is at least half as quiet so we don't mind running it when we're all here working or just putzing around.
- How well does it clean? Maybe not as well, but that is made up for by the fact that it can climb over rugs and clean the entire house in one day versus maybe it takes 2-3 days with the Roomba and it gets stuck on half a dozen things, including "cliffs" that aren't cliffs.
We have a mix of hard floors and fairly thick-pile carpet.
If you're wondering if it's worth saving a few hundred dollars on a Shark and "trying it out," you should go for it. I'm glad I did.
I only got this yesterday, set it up, and charged it. When it reached 50%, it went out and did a mapping run. The rooms and dimensions were clearly visible on the app. This morning, I set it to start out at 8 am, and it did. The app said it would take about 80 minutes to clean the portions of my house available to it. It did a formidable job of getting rid of all the pet hair. I have four dogs and my daughters have between them 5 cats that shed like snow storms, all the time. There were balls of hair in every corner of the house. Shark got almost every one of them, and it had been several days since we have had a vacuum.
I had a Roomba for about 3 years, and it did okay, but you couldn't get it to do any discernable pattern, it just kind of wandered around, docked itself to charge back up, wandered around some more, all day long. It was loud and annoying. It died death by poop.
I ordered a no brand name vacuum and mop combo that got decent reviews. This had no app, it came with a remote control. You could program it to perform patterns, but it was woefully under powered, and I had to send it back,
The Shark is quiet, the app is user friendly, and - at least the first day - it did a really decent job. It follows a pattern, which you can set, and it got up all the dirt lying around. We have wood floors only, no carpets, so I don't know how well it works on those. It has a "mega clean" feature that I haven't used yet. I have it set to run every day. If things change, I will update the review.

It mapped our entire floor perfectly in the first run. I was blown away. The technology has come so far! The app is clean and intuitive. It also makes setting up the Shark very easy. After it is finished mapping, you can add labels to each room, and schedule it to run at certain times, and in the rooms that you choose. If it gets full while it's doing the cleaning session, it will find its way back to the docking station, empty the dust and dirt, and then go back to wherever it left off. The only downside is that it can only map one floor in your house. If you're in a two story house, you can still use it on other floors by moving it to the floor you want to clean, and pressing the "clean" button on top of the vacuum, but you won't be able to do this from the app.
It is fairly quiet, and has a low profile. It's able to sneak under beds and tight to reach places very well. Battery life seems great and no concerns there. The docking station is small enough that it isn't an eyesore. It comes with a nice little mat that the robot drives onto. When the robot docks itself, empties into the docking reservoir after a few seconds. This part is fairly loud, but only lasts a few seconds.
For the money, you truly can't beat this powerful little robot!
