Smells like lilacs and doesn’t burn my eyes

I can’t stand sunscreen. Hate it. It always burns my eyes and it’d rather have wrinkles. UNTIL NOW! This reminds me a light scent of lilacs. Not overly floral (I’m super sensitive to smells. get instant headaches) and this is great. Doesn’t burn my eyes either so I actually wear it and it doesn’t just sit in the drawer waiting to expire. I recommend this to everyone. Side note I don’t typically have sensitive skin just fyi so I don’t know how sensitive skin reacts

You don’t need to purchase anything over 50 SPF I’ve just learned

This product has good reviews obviously Neutrogena has some pretty good products. I’m not particularly fond of the smell, But you have to lean in close to be able to notice it. I do like the texture and how smooth it feels without feeling greasy, That’s a plus.

A dermatologist did tell me that anything over 50spf is the same as just buying 50 SPF. Don’t trust my word on that do your own research. Talk to your own dermatologist veer on the side of caution for your skin.

And the size isn’t as big as I thought it was going to be.

Had allergic reaction, never buying again

TLDR: I had a severe allergic reaction on my face, never getting this brand again. Several people are having this issue (just look at the “sensitive skin” version of this sunscreen and there’s dozens of people describing my exact experience).

I’ve used this product before and had 0 issues, but apparently I’m SEVERELY whatever new ingredient they added to the formula. I put it on my face and arms. Arms were totally fine, face is a different story. My face and neck started to get really itchy after about 2 hours. Even after I washed it off it felt itchy. I had to wash my face three times (with soap) to stop the itching. I was extremely restless afterward, and wasn’t able to get to bed until about 4am (five hours later than when I normally fall asleep). This is SUPER abnormal for me, and I believe it to be directly related to the allergic reaction.

When i woke up, my eyes were swollen, my cheeks and forehead were covered in hives, and my skin was a reddish-pink that made me look sunburnt. I was not sunburnt (which is the only thing this product actually did well), and I think the color was because of the hives.

I immediately got in the shower, scrubbing my face to make sure there was no sunscreen remaining (making this the fourth wash — with soap — to get this sunscreen off my skin). I ended up needing four Benadryl (over the course of the day, not all at once) and several ointments I already have for my eczema for my skin to calm down. I don’t have issues with acne, but the sheer amount of hives on my face made me look like I had a severe acne problem, THATS how bad it was.

Genuinely the WORST experience I’ve ever had with Neutrogena, and a guarantee that I will never buy this brand again, nor will anyone I speak to about this horrible experience. Based on other reviews I’ve seen, I’m not the only one with sensitive skin who is now having issues.

I’ve always liked Neutrogena’s products so I ordered this sunscreen. I’m trying to take better care of my mature skin and sunscreen is a must-do.

The first time I used it, I thought it was a nice consistency, creamy and easy to apply. I also noticed that it stayed white on my skin. I looked a tad skeletal but figured my foundation would cover it up. So I applied my normal toner, serum and moisturizer and went about my day.

After about an hour of wearing it, my eyes started to burn. I hadn’t applied it near my eyes so I thought maybe my eye cream was causing the irritation. I gently rinsed my eye area and put in eye drops, but they still really burned.

The day went on and I took my dogs for a walk mid-afternoon. I’m I. Wisconsin so our temps aren’t real warm yet and the sun isn’t like it is during the summer. When I got home, my skin actually felt like I had a sunburn. It was very painful.

I washed my face with my gentle cleanser and my skin was very red and it looked like my sun spots were larger. Weird, I know. After washing, I put my normal gentle products on and each one of them hurt my skin, which never happens. It honestly felt like I’d had some sort of chemical peel done.

That night, anywhere I had applied the sunscreen (face, neck and chest) itched terribly.

The next day my face was still itchy. I decided to try again but not use any of my morning products, thinking maybe they didn’t play nice together. Well, same reaction only this time my eyes were worse. They watered and burned like crazy.

So I showered and washed my face again and now know that it is the sunscreen. I don’t have sensitive skin as a rule. I do use gentle products on my face more because I have mature skin.

This is just my experience with it but I thought it was worth mentioning.

I used these for a few months. My results were always white cast, chalky, STREAKY, dry... A mess. I could never get it to look right. I bought spf 70 sport face one day because I forgot sunscreen and now I'm so upset I'm stuck with 2 tubes of this dry touch crap at home. I might try mixing them and hoping it's better. The sport face feels like I'm wearing nothing, my skin feels supple, moisturized but not greasy, wonderful, gorgeous, bright, glowing. THIS... This feels like clown or mime makeup. Never again. Took it off subscribe and save. I know better, make the switch ladies and gents.

I just bought this product thinking that I cannot go wrong with Neutrogena for someone like me with naturally oily skin. I have to say I am very disappointed with this product because I used it on vacation. Anywhere that I used it had a major breakout. I am still trying to handle the breakout. My boyfriend also used this and he does not have oily skin. He too started to break out from this product. I think it protects from the sun and it is easy to rub on the skin. But I have never had any kind of breakout like this before. If you have oily skin beware that this product may not be for you.

When i first applied this product to my skin, i was in love with the fact that it was cost effective. however after the second day my skin was a little irritated but i was the the sun a lot so i didn't pay much attention. when i got home i used my mild face scrub which kicked up the burning feeling on my skin a few notches. I still didn't link it to the product so i used a more generous layer on the third day...listen folks when i looked in the mirror... my face was swollen, blotchy and it burned a plenty. my skin has like a fine layer of abrasion...it rough and hypersensitive. If you have sensitive skin use at your own risk.....it may work for you but it did not work for me. its like i got minor chemical burns to my face. i would not use this again.

Ridiculously strong scent from overpowering fragrance.

Overpowering perfume scent. Only put it on my hands and forearms but the chemicals from the fragrance burned my eyes. Left it on for a few hours hoping it would fade away, but had to come home and shower it off. Zero stars. Was thinking about returning it, maybe the formula was bad in this batch? But decided not to waste my time. This ten bucks went in the trash.

Made my skin dark!

It was the third tube I was using. During this time I noticed my skin got darker but I never doubted this sunscreen and I thought maybe I need to fix my diet or need vitamins. It was gettong worst and got to the point that My skin got way darker than my neck and I do not use any sunscreen on my neck. After one week of using another sunscreen I noticed my skin got back to its normal color! It happened with another neutrogen sunscreen too. Maybe neutrogena is not for me.
