When we decided to build a new home, we interviewed six custom home builders. After searching several areas where we could build, we settled on Evans Farm in Lewis Center. A short list of builders were approved to build in this community. I spoke to the developer and discussed some of the shortcomings I found among builders we’d met and asked for suggestions. Stonecliff Homes was one of the developer’s suggestions. I had not heard of this builder, but after learning that Stonecliff would be in the 2019 Parade of Homes, I felt it was worth a look. We had several meetings with Pat and looked at some of his work and his design build process. A year later, we are now living in a beautiful new Stonecliff home in Evans Farm. Throughout the process, Stonecliff displayed a great deal of flexibility, allowing us the opportunity to engage in much of the customization and to create some really special features at a very competitive cost. Through the process Pat remained personally available to us. We’re particularly proud of our walk in pantry, large laundry room, under stair wet bar and spectacular walk in closets. I don’t know if this will be our forever home, but, if we do build again, Stoneclff will be our first callshow more

Everything went very well with Ray. He is extremely knowledgeable of his product, professional, and easy to work with. Ray reviewed his home plans with us, modified them to match our requirements, and provided a detailed estimate of what it would cost to build our desired home. This was our first time building a home, Ray recognized that, and took the time to walk us through the home building process. Ray also walked us through a home Diyanni had previously built. I found his estimate to be very much out of the ballpark compared to other builders in the area. I'm sure he can build a wonderful home; I've seen beautiful homes he's built for himself and others but he's just priced out of the market. He wants to charge New Albany prices, even for homes not being built in New Albany. That's fine if he had told me this up front, but I wasted a lot of time talking to him (over six months) with a price range known, and then his estimate was roughly $100,000 over this rangeshow more

Jeff was exceptional to work with from the moment we began working with him. He was very responsive, thoughtful, had great ideas and allowed us the freedom to design the home just as we wanted it. We took plans I had drawn on paper, asked many questions and drafted the plans with his program creating full plans, 3D images and real-life view type images. It really helped us make adjustments to fit our vision. The construction build process was much faster than we imagined it would be. He told us 4-5 months, and we thought to prepare ourselves to be prepared for 6-8 months. To our delight, the home was finished in 119 days! We have contacted Jeff since we have been in the home over the last few months and he is just as responsive and helpful. While we plan for this to be our forever home, I would choose Jeff again to build another home and have recommended him to family and friendsshow more

Tim was here from start to finish supervising and working. The garage is exactly what we envisioned. Tim was always available to answer questions and making changes was not a huge issue and nor were they overly costly. They put the wrong shingles on the roof and it was too late to change. We had paid for a different sidewalk and one had already been poured. They did not take direction well. Our main issues were getting the one year walk through issues taken care of. The biggest issue was with the driveway. The driveway spalded and the issue was, we were told the concrete was mixed improperly. Some of the contractors from Diyanni spilled things and left stains. They advised us not to seal the driveway until the spring. Then, after the spalding, they said it was because we did not seal the driveway. At the end of the process Diyanni paid a very minute amount toward the repairs. We also went around with them over the ceramic tile in our bathroom as there was water behind itshow more

Customer service is excellent in the beginning before they get you to buy a home from them, but after you have signed the papers the services go from excellent to horrible. It takes forever for them to respond to a call to fix something in your home. They unprofessional. They lose paperwork. Say one thing, but mean anothershow more

My family cannot say enough good things about Diyanni Custom Homes. We had an amazing experience in all stages of home planning, design, and construction with the Diyanni team. I strongly recommend Diyanni for your custom home and remodeling needs. The Diyanni family is very honest and the quality they put forth is amazing. This was the first home we had built and we could not be more pleased. Our expectations were exceeded at every stage of the process. The trades that Diyanni uses are second to none and the quality of work clearly stands out. We approached Diyanni homes back in December of 2012 to begin discussing our dream home. We were a little hesitant as this was the first house we had built vs. bought. The design team was so accomodiating and spent so much time working with us, which made us feel comfortable about our decisions and choices. Upon selling our previous home we broke ground in June of 2013 and moved in right before Christmas, as planned. We did quite a bit of research and have spoken to many people who have built custom homes and all had at least one negative thing to say about their overall experience. We can honestly say that every part of our build experience was positive. We would of course do it again, but love our house too much to want another one. In a nutshell it did not go well. There are too many details to give all of them. But to summarize the situation from our point of view we paid over $473,000 to have a custom house built and it is our contention that the house in some very important areas was not built as we asked. In addition, the entire process was flawed since we were allowed to meet with the architect only once and never with the electrician. We did not receive the blue prints to approve until after the house was framed and roofed and they were not in fact 100% in agreement with the blue prints that were approved by the City of Gahanna. Other issues include asking for a wheelchair accessible first floor house with most doorways a 36 inch width. We did not get that in the master closet. We told the salesperson we wanted a wider garage so that the Ford Mustang we owned could be in the one car garage and you could open the driver's door fully. We did not get that. We asked for a decorative natural gas fireplace and got a fireplace that is producing heat that is ruining the mantle and LED TV that are above it. The fireplace is also taking oxygen out of the room and putting in carbon dioxide since it is not vented. We do not contend that the house is built poorly, but rather not to our specifications given to the salesperson and that the process was severely flawed in our case. After 20 months of living in the house the builder still is refusing to do anything about the important items. Routine items were handled fine as maintenance man Phil is great. However nothing has been done for months with the stalemate on the major issuesshow more

Truberry seemed reputable and good to work with until the house was about half completed. At that point we learned that they are disorganized, provide bad customer service, and keep important information to themselves. They also do not have good attention to detail. We were expected to catch their errors, and then you have to argue with them to get them to take even the smallest corrective action. They commonly try to talk you into accepting a solution that does not meet the original expectations. They promise things orally but won't in writing, then they don't fulfill their promises. If you do choose to build with them, I suggest getting everything in writing very early in the process, have the work and "finished" product inspected by a non-biased expert inspector, and don't pay in full until your issues have been addressed. After we paid, they seemed to just try to wear us down so we would give up and go away. Since we had paid, we had little leverage, except legal actionshow more

The Truberry representatives come off as very professional in their sales presentation but thats where the professionalism stops. Our house has been a disaster since day one and they have ignored us for virtually everything. The walls are bowed, concrete cracked, mortar joints falling apart, windows rotting inside framing, roof leaks. After the warranty expired we hired a home inspector and I wish we had done so earlier, as his report uncovered numerous and major quality problems. We hear people talk frequently about the lack of attention they pay to the quality of their homes that Truberry builds. I wish we had been Angie's List members previously, and we could have saved thousands of dollars and months of frustration. Bob and John Dyas exceeded our expectations in terms of timing, communications, being easy to work with, and especially quality. In four months we were finished, including a brick exterior that matches the old part of the house, custom kitchen including a 12' island, custom hardwood floors, and other custom touches throughout the new space.
