The work isn't finished yet. Like everyone else around here, they are swamped because we are having a heatwave. It's an older system, so I know it was on borrowed time. He tried to band aid fix, but it didn't' work. He is now investigating the best unit to get. I felt that I had a lot of trust in this guy. It was bad news for me, but I really appreciated the way he handled everything. Because they are going to replace it, he is going to built the cost of this visit into the final replacement. I called the company the next day to tell them how much I appreciated them. I am going to give them a "B" on responsiveness, but it's not their fault. We have been having a heatwave, so they have been swamped. In fact, the guy that was here on Monday, was here for an hour at 5:30 and had five other calls after me. He was right on time. He was very good in explaining things and not feeling that any question was too stupid. He gave me honest advise about the replacement units and understanding my situation

This all happened in the middle of a heat wave, so Klein was swamped with calls. They fit me in as best they could, however. The technician was easy to talk to, explaining things well and not making me feel foolish. When it came to making recommendations, he did not try to get me to buy the most expensive units but gave me a couple of more economical choices that he felt were solid enough that he would use them in his own home. He put in long hours to complete the work without becoming unpleasant; I trusted him and was not disappointed! The folks in the office were great, too

Fred came out same day as promised even though it was very late in the day and quickly diagnosed a loose screw in thermostat that I installed was causing my air conditioner and fan not to work. He took the time to ensure everything else was ok. He was swamped with air conditioner service calls that day because it was unsesonabbly hot. All I can say is how grateful I am to have knowledgable trustworthy service at reasonable fees. Definitely call if you need heating or cooling service. Definitely worth the wait, although he usualy gets to you same day if at all possible

Hetter Heating & Cooling
Everything went great! Our 30 year old A/C unit stopped working in the midst of the late July heat wave. Even though all the local HVAC contractors were swamped, a Hetter technician was out within a day or two to diagnose. We have a Home Warranty and once the technician made the diagnosis and the Warranty company approved replacement, we were on the schedule for install for a week later. Rick dropped by with a packet of information and answers for our many questions. There was NO pressure whatsoever to upgrade over the base model. We opted for an entire system replacement so we could have the A/C unit we preferred paired with its supporting furnace/blower. I mentioned that our son and daughter-in-law would arrive that night for a visit from out of state and they made sure that the job was finished and all cleaned up in time for their visit. We appreciate that the technicians are certified and highly trained and have passed a national background screening. Every single person we spoke with/met at Hetter was professional while at the same time made us feel like family. I'd recommend this company for your HVAC needs any day of the week

To review, here is the time-line of events 2005--No issues with AC unit performance (purchased home in Sept 2004) Aug 2006--noticed house was not as cool as it had been. Aire-flo service call on Aug 7. charged $137 for service and R410 refrigerant. Aug 2006--Issue not resolved, Aire-flo second service call on Aug 28. Installed incorrect Coil and TXV on Aug 31, charged $458. July 2007--extremely poor performance of until. Called second company for service call charged for refrigerant and service (Have also contacted this company) 2008 & 2009--extremely poor performance searched for solutions including redesign of duct work and installing booster fans. May 2010--engaged third company to quote us a price on the redesign/boosters. This company discovered the original mistake from Aug 2006. I have reviewed the usage data (attached above) and would like to point out some obvious conclusions: Looking only at the summer billing months, May to September (when the AC unit is primarily engaged), we can leverage 2005 and 2006 as a baseline. Against that baseline there is a substantial and consistent jump in KWH for each of the next three years (monthly detail below): Even taking into consideration average temperatures etc, the vast majority of this change must be due to the Freon Coil & TXV icing up and turning my Puron AC unit into an energy hog, swamp cooler. Please note this isn't my opinion but the opinion of several HVAC companies that I have contacted and the manufacturer. As the table below summarizes, the increase over the 2-year baseline comes to $1267.77. I look forward to hearing back from you within the next week on your assessment of what reimbursement would address this situation. We did not hear anything back from the president of the company in over 2 weeks after we submitted this information. After letting him know we would be following through with multiple complaints, he contacted us but reported that he did not know anything abou tthe complaint. We have many emails detailing the issues and how they have fixed the problem. They are refusing to consider reimbursing us for the items that they charged by installing the incorrect part, service call fees that we spent in trying to correct the issue with other companies or the utility expenses that were unnecessary and essentially overcharged. We are extremely disappointed in this company for not handling the claim and reimbursing us properly. We have given them an opportunity to correct the matter and the decided to ignore the issue at hand
