Colonel David R. Lamy

Chief of Staff United States Army North (Fifth Army)

Colonel David R. Lamy is a native of Vernon, Connecticut. He is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and was commissioned as an Infantry Officer in 1995.


Colonel Lamy enlisted in 1989. He served as an Infantry Scout Team Leader with the 4th Battalion, 25th Infantry Division (Light). Following commissioning, Colonel Lamy served as Platoon Leader in the 1st Battalion, 10th Mountain Division (Light); Executive Officer, HHB, XVIII Airborne Corps Artillery; Plans Officer, 35th Signal Brigade (Airborne); BN S6, 1st Battalion, 43d Air Defense Artillery, 6th Cavalry Brigade; Company Commander, D Company, 50th Signal Battalion (Airborne). He served as a Civil Affairs Officer, D Co, 96th Civil Affairs Battalion (Airborne); Brigade S6, 95th Civil Affairs Brigade (Airborne); Chief of Plans and Exercises, ACofS G6, XVIII Airborne Corps; Operations Officer, 50th Signal Battalion (Airborne); Executive Officer, 50th Signal Battalion (Expeditionary). Colonel Lamy then commanded the 51st Signal Battalion (Expeditionary). He served as the Requirements Division Chief/J6, C4/CYBER Directorate, Joint Staff J6. Colonel Lamy commanded the 106th Signal Brigade; following command, he served as the CIO for Army Futures Command. Colonel Lamy’s previous assignment was as the ACofS G6, ARNORTH.


Colonel Lamy received his master’s degree in National Security Strategy from the National War College. Colonel Lamy is a graduate of the Infantry Officers Basic Course, Signal Officer Transition Course, Signal Officer Advanced Course, Command and General Staff College, and the National War College.


His awards and decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit with one oak leaf cluster, Bronze Star Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Master Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, German and the French Parachutist Badges.


Colonel Lamy is married to the former Beth Graham from New Milford, CT and has two sons.
