In September 2017, Credo High School's One Planet Action Plan was endorsed by Bioregional as demonstrating global leadership in One Planet Living.

Mia, a student at Credo, shares why she thinks the sustainability framework has been beneficial to her school, and her own educational journey.

Mia's story

"One Planet Living has been an incredible outlet for my sustainability passion. My peers and I are able to attend wonderfully inspiring events and conferences, as well as organize and participate in the One Planet Youth Summit. This annual event brings together teens from all over Sonoma County to share their work in achieving One Planet goals and to learn valuable lessons from each other.

This year, I had the honour of being Credo’s Youth Summit presenter and shared my favourite One Planet event. As part of our team's Countywide Watershed Cleanup day, I visited my younger brother’s class to teach them about the damaging effect trash can have on ecosystems and took them on an adventure to a nearby bike path to pick up trash. Seeing how excited they were to help take care of our planet has fueled my inspiration to bring more awareness to younger children and my peers!"

Mia’s story was featured in Bioregional's Impact Review 2017/18 alongside other inspiring people striving for sustainable change and helping us all move towards One Planet Living.
