Philadelphia Eagles, Wawa, and cheesesteak talk on the Boston airwaves?

The week of major upheaval across Boston radio continued on Thursday, as Beasley Media Group announced that the Country 102.5 morning show with Ayla Brown and Jonathan Wier will be replaced with a Philly show.

Brown, the daughter of ex-Sen. Scott Brown, is a former American Idol finalist and country musician.

This massive change at 102.5 also comes as longtime host Carolyn Kruse is leaving the Boston station after more than three decades.

Also, Kruse’s departure is only a few months after 102.5 DJ Jackson Blue was let go by Beasley Media Group amid a rash of layoffs. About 7% of the company workforce was cut.

Beasley Media earlier this week announced that Rock 92.9 is being replaced by Bloomberg Radio, and that Rock 92.9 will be moving to HD2.

Then yesterday, Audacy’s WEEI announced a big shakeup as the Boston radio station struggles with its ratings.

The “Andie Summers Morning Show” featuring host Andie Summers with Jeff Kurkjian, producer Donnie Black and assistant producer Shannon Boyle will be syndicated on 102.5 in Boston and KCYE in Las Vegas.

The Philly show will be launched in Boston on Monday.

“Andie Summers has been beloved by loyal fans in Philly for decades and the show brand has only improved in recent years with the addition of Jeff Kurkjian, Donnie Black and Shannon Boyle,” Chief Content Officer Justin Chase said in a statement.

“I have no doubt that Country radio listeners in Boston and Vegas will fall in love with this amazing cast,” Chase added.

Summers has been waking up country music fans in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties on 92.5 XTU since 1999.

During her 25-plus years in the business, Summers has won several awards, including multiple Country Music Association (CMA) Award for Major Market Personality of the Year, the Academy of Country Music Award (ACM) for Major Market Station of the Year and a Gracie Award.
