While Stanton should soak up most of the starts at designated hitter, the Yankees could also use Aaron Judge at that spot on some days while the newly acquired Jazz Chisholm plays the outfield.

Stanton continued to do work on the field Wednesday, and Boone said he thinks the slugger is "towards the end of" his rehab. However, while the manager didn't rule out Stanton being activated at some point this weekend to face the Red Sox, he also indicated that such a scenario is not an expectation. It doesn't appear that Stanton has experienced a setback, so he seems likely to return to action next week if he remains out for the Boston series.
