  • Diamondbacks' Eduardo Rodriguez: Cleared for season debut Tuesday

Rodriguez (shoulder) is expected to make his season and Diamondbacks debut Tuesday in Cleveland, John Gambadoro of 98.7 FM Phoenix reports.

Things were pointing to Rodriguez getting a start against the Guardians and now we have an exact date for the left-hander's first major-league start of the season. He's been out all year with shoulder issues but is now ready to go following a four-inning simulated game Wednesday. Rodriguez did not make any rehab starts and he had been slated to throw 65 pitches in the sim game, so he will be limited from a pitch count perspective and might also be rusty in Cleveland.

  • Diamondbacks' Eduardo Rodriguez: Season debut next week likely

Rodriguez (shoulder) has joined the Diamondbacks in Pittsburgh and appears on track to make his season debut next week in Cleveland, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Rodriguez had been slated to throw a four-inning, 65-pitch simulated game Wednesday and it appears he came out of that with no concerns. The left-hander could make his season and Diamondbacks debut as soon as Monday, although the club might choose to keep Zac Gallen on turn that day and give Rodriguez the ball Tuesday. If Rodriguez starts either of those days, he would be in line for a two-start week.

  • Diamondbacks' Eduardo Rodriguez: Might make season debut next week

Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Monday that Rodriguez (shoulder) could make his season debut next week in Cleveland, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Rodriguez is slated to throw a four-inning simulated game Wednesday, and it sounds like that could be his final test before joining Arizona's rotation. The left-hander has been out all season with a left shoulder injury and has not made any rehab starts, so his workload and sharpness next week would be a bit of a mystery.

  • Diamondbacks' Eduardo Rodriguez: Throws bullpen Sunday

Rodriguez (shoulder) threw a bullpen session Sunday, MLB.com reports.

Rodriguez followed up a two-inning simulated game Friday with Sunday's bullpen. The Diamondbacks will evaluate the left-hander Monday to determine what the next step is for him. Rodriguez landed on the injured list during spring training and had a setback in April, when he experienced discomfort in his left lat.

  • Diamondbacks' Eduardo Rodriguez: Nearing live BP

Rodriguez (shoulder) will throw a bullpen session Saturday, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo indicated the left-hander is likely to throw an additional bullpen session after that before progressing to live batting practice. Signed as a free agent in December, Rodriguez has been on the shelf all season due to a strained shoulder, and he'll likely require a multi-start rehab assignment before being cleared for his Arizona debut.
