  • Rams' Rob Havenstein: Dealing with foot injury

Head coach Sean McVay told reporters Thursday that Havenstein left practice due to a foot injury, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.

The severity of the injury hasn't been announced, but the Rams could elect to hold Havenstein out of their first preseason game against the Cowboys on Aug. 11. The 2015 second-round pick out of Wisconsin is set to serve as the starting right tackle. Joe Noteboom and Zachary Thomas are candidates to see more snaps at tackle with the first-team offense if Havenstein were to miss extended time.

  • Rams' Russ Yeast: May remain without starting role

Yeast has seen work at safety and slot corner during training camp but isn't the favorite to land either role, Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports.

Yeast opened the 2023 campaign as a starter at safety for the Rams but failed to keep the job after the team's Week 10 bye. With Jordan Fuller now in Carolina, he was expected to have a chance to return to the top of the depth chart, but the emergence of Quentin Lake and the signing of Kamren Curl will likely relegate Yates to a backup role, while Cobie Durant is expected to earn top slot duties.

  • Rams' Quentin Lake: Favorite to earn starting role

Lake is expected to start at free safety this season, Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports.

Lake finished 2023 as the team's starter, but that wasn't necessarily guaranteed to carry over in 2024. With competition from rookie Kamren Kinchens and the returning John Johnson, he was expected to have to earn the job. However, although the starting role appears to be his to lose, Lake has seen work at cornerback as well, so his position on the Rams' defense may not be set in stone.

  • Rams' Davis Allen: Headed for No. 2 TE role

Allen appears to be ahead of Hunter Long in a competition for the No. 2 TE spot early in the season, according to Cameron DaSilva of Rams Wire.

Longtime starter Tyler Higbee is expected to miss the early part of the season, at the very least, after suffering ACL and MCL tears in a playoff loss at Detroit. Free-agent signing Colby Parkinson is on track to take over as the starter, but it isn't clear if he'll play as many snaps as Higbee normally would, potentially opening the door for Allen to have a decent-sized role. The Rams typically don't use multi-TE formations often, so it's also possible Allen gets most of his snaps on special teams even with Higbee out. Either way, the 2023 fifth-round pick has a tricky path to fantasy relevance despite showing some nice flashes late last season when both Higbee and Long were briefly unavailable.

  • Rams' Demarcus Robinson: On track for No. 3 job

Robinson has been "one of the stars" of Rams training camp and remains on track for the No. 3 receiver role, according to Cameron DaSilva of Rams Wire.

Tutu Atwell was given a chance to compete for the No. 3 spot but apparently hasn't done much with the opportunity. He previously lost the role to Robinson late last season, which led to a five-game stretch Weeks 13-17 in which Robinson scored four TDs while averaging 4.2 catches 63.8 yards on 6.8 targets per game. Robinson then re-signed on a one-year, $5 million contract in the offseason, setting him up for steady playing time in an offense that always ranks near the top of the league in percentage of passes thrown to WRs (rather than other positions). Granted, Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua will see a lot more of those passes than Robinson, making it difficult to match his late-season production from last year.

  • Rams' Jonah Jackson: Missing substantial time

Jackson is expected to miss about six weeks with a bruised scapula sustained during Wednesday's practice, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

Jackson came over from Detroit to Los Angeles on a deal that made him one of the highest paid guards in football during free agency, and he's now in jeopardy of missing the beginning of the Rams' 2024 campaign. Expect both Mike McAllister and KT Leveston to see increased work at left guard in Jackson's extended absence.

  • Rams' Jonah Jackson: Leaves Wednesday's practice

Jackson left Wednesday's camp session with an apparent arm injury, Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports.

Jackson missed time earlier in the offseason due to a knee issue, and he now appears to have injured his left arm during Wednesday's practice. Once the first-year Ram is return to the field, he's expected to serve as the team's top left guard.

  • Rams' Alaric Jackson: Tweaks ankle

Jackson tweaked his ankle at Monday's practice.

There is no word on the severity of Jackson's ankle injury at this time. Expect the Rams to err on the side of caution with him this early in camp in order to ensure his health for the start of the season. When healthy, he is projected to protect Matthew Stafford's blindside at left tackle.
