Striking meatpackers said they will mount a protest outside the Geo. A. Hormel & Co. plant near Minneapolis when it resumes hog slaughtering Monday for the first time since the strike began in August. Hormel officials said they intend to open the hog slaughter department, shutdown since Aug. 17, and said the company should have all the replacement workers it needs by midweek.
