Chicago Heights police have appealed to the public for any information leading to the identity of a newborn baby boy found dead last Sunday in a garbage dump in the south suburb.
The child`s body was discovered in a trash heap in the Fritz-Mar landfill at 28th Street and East End Avenue.
Authorities said they are hampered in their investigation because refuse is hauled to the landfill from Chicago and several suburbs. Police asked that anyone with information notify Chicago Heights detectives at 754-2121.
