Joseph C. Beranek, 79, a retired steel company employee, died Friday in Holy Cross Hospital. Mr. Beranek, of the South Side, retired in 1976 as a sales representative for Charles G. Stevens Co., Westchester, where he had been employed since 1937. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; a son, Robert J.; and a granddaughter. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Rita Catholic Church, 6243 S. Fairfield Ave.
