More than 70 percent of the 83 luxury townhouses offered at Picardy Circle in north suburban Northbrook have been purchased since opening for sales last May.

Picardy Circle is being developed by Arlington Heights-based Freed-Meyerson Co. United Development, Oak Brook, is general contractor and sales and marketing agent for the Northbrook townhouse community.

”We have 60 signed sales contracts even though we`re still working out of a trailer,” reported Al Goodman, vice president of sales for United.

”Market research indicated that there was a demand for this type of housing in the Northbrook area to meet the needs of both empty nesters and young couples. Our brisk sales pace supports those results.”

Prices for the two- and three-bedroom townhouses range from $128,490 to $154,490, and in size from 1,683 to 2,125 square feet, with a $4,000 premium for locations along Picardy Lake.

Standard features at Picardy Circle include a living room fireplace with gas logs and lighter, volume ceilings in either master bedrooms or living areas with optional skylights, attached two-car garage and central air conditioning. Kitchens in all homes feature double oven and range; dishwasher; food disposer; double bowl stainless steel sink; resilient flooring and choice of custom furniture quality cabinets.

The sales office is on Sanders Road one-quarter mile north of Dundee Road (Ill. Hwy.68).
