The slump in the farm-equipment industry roars on. Sales of large tractors plunged in January to 1,875 units nationwide, a 16.8 percent drop from depressed year-earlier levels, according to the Farm and Industrial Equipment Institute. Sales of combines fell, by 16.3 percent, to 621 units, Chicago-based FIEI said.
