Manitoba`s provincial government has announced a multibillion-dollar deal with U.S. utilities to supply electricity. The first of three agreements made public was a $3 billion sale of 550 megawatts a year of electricity starting in 1996 to the Upper Mississippi Power Group, a consortium of utilities serving six U.S. states, including Illinois.
