Regarding the cartoon in Perspective Feb. 1–inaccurate, unfair and an insult to every National Rifle Association member!
Persons who are known to have criminal records are not legally entitled to purchase firearms, and the NRA has never advocated that they should be.
In truth, the NRA is trying very hard to get the McClure-Volkmer Act brought to a vote in the House of Representatives. Included in this bill is a mandatory jail sentence for offenders using a gun in the commission of a crime.
