January exports for Japan`s top two automobile manufacturers were lower than a year earlier. Toyota Motor Corp.`s exports declined 0.9 percent to 144,295 units, mainly because of a drop in sales in the Middle East and China. Nissan Motor Co.`s exports declined 6.5 percent to 117,925.
