UPDATED:

The Bears said Friday that cornerback Leslie Frazier and wide receiver Dennis McKinnon will be lost for the 1986 season while they recover from knee injuries. Richard Dent`s future, meanwhile, took a less certain turn.

Dent, the Bears` All-Pro defensive lineman, was to scheduled to meet Friday with New Jersey Generals` president Jerry Argovitz, a spokesman for the United States Football League team said.

Dent, the Most Valuable Player in the Bears` Super Bowl victory over New England, wants to renegotiate his contract.

Frazier, who was injured in the Super Bowl, underwent surgery for ligament damage on his left knee Feb. 3. He already has begun a rehabilitation program but is not expected to resume full physical activity for nine months. Dr. Lanny Johnson performed arthroscopic knee surgery on McKinnon at East Lansing, Mich., on Feb. 11. The procedure was to improve the knee-joint surface and did not involve ligament or cartilage repair.

Dr. Johnson indicated it would take from 10 to 12 months before McKinnon can pursue rehabilitation.
