The Oklahoma State Banking Commission closed the Elk City State Bank Friday because of a run on deposits, a commission spokeswoman said. Mary Beth Guard, general counsel for the commission, said efforts would be made to find a buyer for the bank over the weekend so it can reopen Monday.
