Services for Oliver Green, 62, a retired supervisor for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Chicago, will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday in the Progressive Community Church, 56 E. 48th St. Mr. Green, a South Side resident, died Tuesday in the Veterans Administration Lakeside Medical Center. Mr. Green was a supervisor of inspectors in the food division of the agriculture department and retired in 1983 after 39 years with the department. An army veteran of World War II, Mr. Green had been active for years in scouting and had served as scoutmaster of the Explorer Scout Troop in the Robert Taylor Homes at 47th and State Streets. He also had been a district commissioner, finance chairman and camping committee chairman in the scouts. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; two sons, Oliver and Hank; two brothers; and two sisters.
