A 112-year-old woman living in Wales now holds the title of the oldest person in the world, the Guinness Book of World Records said Monday.

Anna Eliza Williams, who was born June 2, 1873, inherited the title from Shigechiyo Izumi, who died last week in Japan at the age of 120, Guinness said.

”It`s difficult to comprehend that Mom`s the oldest person in the world,” said Williams` daughter, Constance Harvey, 78.

Williams lives in a nursing home in Swansea.
