A semi-trailer rollover on Interstate 80 near Kedzie Avenue in Hazel Crest killed one person Tuesday morning, according to Illinois State Police.
At about 4:30 a.m., the tractor-trailer being driven east went down an embankment off the roadway and overturned onto Kedzie Avenue, police said in a statement Tuesday morning. State police responded and pronounced the driver dead.
Police said one eastbound lane on I-80 is shut down and Kedzie Avenue remained closed Tuesday morning.
Police are investigating and no additional information was immediately available.
