‘Twisters’ review: Storm-chasing sequel is a big dumb summer movie in the best possible way

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- I’m not a weather nerd. Science was never my thing. For that, I was grateful as I watched “Twisters,” a spiritual sequel to the 1996 blockbuster most remembered for a flying cow.

The movie throws more weather jargon and theory at you than the test for the AMS Seal of Approval, explaining how a tornado works and how, potentially, to make one vanish before it does significant damage. Ignore all of it. The moment you start questioning if anything in the film is based in reality is when you forget the most important thing.
