Unmerited article comparing Reagan’s age issues to Biden’s

Regarding the Associated Press article in the July 7 Plain Dealer (“Biden’s age, fitness reminiscent of another campaign: Reagan ‘84″): How dare you compare The Gipper with The Tripper? There is simply no comparison of performance during Ronald Regan’s and Joe Biden’s first terms. The decision to run that article betrays clear media bias.

President Ronald Reagan won a second term in an historic 1984 landslide, carrying 49 of 50 states, while President Joe Biden’s approval rate is now just 37%. Mr. Reagan achieved the greatest economic recovery in our lifetime; Mr. Biden’s legacy is failure.

The article also misses the point by focusing on age. It’s not an issue of candidates’ chronological age; rather, of their cognitive ability. Why won’t Mr. Biden take a cognitive test, as Mr Trump says he has? Second, this election is clearly a referendum on accomplishments between Biden and Trump. Again, there is a stark contrast. On critical issues such as the economy, inflation, immigration, national security, and foreign policy, Mr. Trump’s first term was superior.

Two-thirds of likely voters say the country is headed in the wrong direction. Clearly, a majority have no desire for another four years of Biden’s disastrous policies.
