CLEVELAND, Ohio – It’s been exciting over the past two years to watch the evolution of plans by Bedrock, a Detroit-based real estate company, to build a massive development along the Cuyahoga River next to Tower City Center, where surface parking lots now dominate.

Headed by billionaire Dan Gilbert, owner of the NBA Cavaliers, Bedrock wants to build 3.5 million square feet of hotel, apartment, office and retail space, plus parks and generous public amenities over 20 years on 35 acres of long-underused riverfront.
