PARMA, Ohio -- Construction on the new Ridgewood Golf Course clubhouse and event center could begin next month.

Representatives from the construction manager-at-risk, Albert M. Higley Co., told council members at Monday night’s Planning Commission meeting that they expected to break ground on the $12.3 million project in the first or second week of August.

The group also said that the new facility, which had been tentatively set for an Independence Day 2025 grand opening, will not likely open until next fall.

Service Director Tony Vannello said at Monday’s meeting that the project remains on budget.

City council earlier this year voted to issue $14 million in bonds to pay for the project. Cuyahoga County Council also gave $4 million from its American Rescue Plan Act funding.

The plans call for an 11,400-square-foot structure with indoor and outdoor seating, an expanded bar and lounge area and more than 160 parking spaces.

The course has used a triple-wide trailer as its clubhouse since the original clubhouse was torn down in 2022.
