CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Tanner Bibee was dynamite for the Guardians in the month of June, posting a 2.86 ERA over five starts.

July has been a different story.

Bibee lost his second game of the month on Wednesday night in Detroit as the Tigers held off Cleveland 5-4.

Bibee surrendered two runs in the first inning on a RBI triple by Colt Keith and a sac-fly by Matt Vierling. Two innings later Vierling took him deep for a two-run homer.

The right-hander did settle down and cleared seven innings for the Guardians giving up only the four runs, but they could never get the lead back.

Andy Ibanez slugged a solo homer off Sam Hentges in the 8th inning for a 5-3 lead and that would prove to be the game winner.

The Guardians added a run in the ninth when Andres Gimenez delivered a sac-fly to score Josh Naylor. They had a chance take the lead later in the frame, but with runners at second and third and two out Austin Hedges grounded to short to end the game.

Detroit will look to win the four game series on Thursday afternoon.
