The GT-R features a hybrid body construction of steel, die-cast aluminum and carbon fiber.

The GT-R's front fascia is flanked by integrated high intensity LED running lights with four LED units that are configured with an intensive LED high beam and three different LED low beams, including long-distance illumination and wide-illumination.

The GT-R's front fenders feature vents that provide optimum air flow around the tires and along the body, providing front downforce and optimization of side air flow.

The new 20-spoke RAYS aluminum-alloy forged wheels with premium dark (near black) finish replace the previous 10-spoke design. The wheels feature special knurling to assist with securing the tires during hard acceleration or braking.

The new 45th Anniversary Gold Edition commemorates the GT-R's long heritage of world-class high performance. Built from the GT-R Premium model, the limited edition features a special paint color, a special gold-tone VIN plate located inside the engine compartment and a special commemorative plaque on the interior center console. Less than 30 of these special 2016 GT-Rs are slated for the United States.

The 2016 GT-R Premium and Black Edition's advanced VR38DETT 3.8-liter twin turbo V6 is rated at 545 horsepower and 463 lb-ft of torque.

The engine is hand-assembled from beginning to end in a special clean room by specially trained technicians. An aluminum plate is added showing the name of the "Takumi" engine craftsman. Fuel economy is rated at 16 mpg city and 22 mpg highway.

The 3,922 pound GT-R can move from 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds, according to Motor Trend.

All 2016 Nissan GT-Rs are again built on an exclusive Premium Midship platform, which enables the use of the unique independent rear transaxle ATTESA E-TS all-wheel drive system. This system places the transmission, transfer case and final drive at the rear of the vehicle, optimizing weight distribution and allowing the suspension to operate completely independently.

The twin turbo V-6 is backed by an advanced paddle-shifted sequential 6-speed dual clutch transmission, which can be driver selected to shift at race car-like speeds. It also features Hill Start Assist for easy starts on uphill inclines.

With the GT-R's rear-drive bias, up to 50 percent of torque can be transmitted to the front wheels when needed, torque split is continuously variable depending on speed, lateral and transverse acceleration, steering angles, tire slip, road surface and yaw rate.

GT-R's interior balances functionality with a sense of ease and comfort. It features sculpted performance bucket seats for an optimal driving position and a cockpit-style instrument panel with a large center-mounted tachometer and multi-function display – which includes mechanical and driving information, as well as an on-board driving recorder.

The GT-R's metallic-framed center console features an ergonomically designed shift lever and a red "engine start" button. A video game-inspired multi-function display has multiple pages of mechanical and driving information as well as navigation, traffic info and entertainment controls.

The GT-R's large center-mounted tachometer, with gear display on its upper right, as well as the easy-to-read graphics of the multi-function display, give the driver instant detailed information.

The GT-R's interior features available hand-stitched, semi-aniline leather-appointed front seats (Premium Interior Package). There's usable passenger and luggage space with four passenger seating and trunk capacity of two golf bags or suitcases.
