They've been off the air since 1992, but "The Golden Girls" seem as popular as ever in 2019.

There are Chia Pets, Halloween costumes and drag shows honoring the Miami gals, Sophia, Dorothy, Rose and Blanche.

Later this month Metro Detroit fans of the award-winning comedy series will get to test their knowledge with a series of "Golden Girls"-themed trivia games.

Organized by Sporcle Live trivia group, the games are the evening of Oct. 20 at venues across the country, including nine bars in Southeastern Michigan. At least one event is already sold out.

Some of the participating bars and restaurants that still have tickets remaining are Bobcat Bonnie's in Wyandotte, Ciccarelli's Sports Bar in Shelby Township, Grand Tavern in Livonia and Aubree's Pizzeria and Grill in Westland.

Tickets are required, and the entry fee is $25 per team of up to five people. The winning team at each location wins $100. Visit sporcle.com/live/theme-nights/golden-girls to sign up.

This isn't the only event coming up inspired by "The Golden Girls." Planet Ant in Hamtramck is hosting a drag show "Hot Flashbacks! A Golden Girls Musical Parody" on Friday. Later this year, the Ringwald Theatre in Ferndale brings "A Very Golden Girls Christmas," which runs Nov. 22-Dec. 16.
