Bagger Dave’s in downtown Detroit closes
The Michigan-based company that owns several Bagger Dave’s burger franchises has closed eight restaurants, including the downtown Detroit location.
Diversified Restaurant Holdings Inc. has 18 remaining Bagger Dave’s Burger Tavern restaurants, as well as 60 Buffalo Wild Wings locations, including the one at 1218 Randolph in Detroit, which is next to the lone closed Michigan Bagger Dave’s.
The locations were “under performing,” said Eddie Bard, DRH’s director of marketing. “As part of our strategic grown plan we had to close them to better allocate resources.”
Bagger Dave’s, which was founded in Berkley in 2008, still has several south eastern Michigan locations including Berkley, Ann Arbor, Bloomfield, Canton, Novi, Shelby Township and Woodhaven. A Chesterfield Township restaurant opened in September.
This isn’t the first locally-based chain to close its downtown Detroit restaurant. Troy-based Olga’s Kitchen shuttered its Campus Martius location in September.
