Tampa, Fla. — Detroit Lions tight end Sam LaPorta is active for Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The rookie enters the contest as the team's second-leading receiver with 25 receptions for 289 yards and three touchdowns. He had suffered a mid-week calf strain, which sidelined him for Thursday's practice, leaving him with a questionable designation entering the day.

More than half of Detroit's inactives were already know prior to Sunday. Running back Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring), defensive back Brian Branch (ankle), guard Jonah Jackson (ankle) and tight end James Mitchell (hamstring) had been ruled out on Friday. Joining them on the inactive list were a pair of healthy scratches, cornerback Steven Gilmore and defensive tackle Brodric Martin.

Martin, a third-round draft pick this offseason, has been inactive each of the first six games.

Returning to action for the Lions is cornerback and special teams standout Khalil Dorsey, who was activated off injured reserve this weekend after missing the past four games with an illness.
