Chris was born in the hills of Eastern Tennessee in 1977 and Enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1995 as a logistician. His 8 years of Active-Duty service led him across the globe with assignments in Asia, the Middle East and in Europe. Upon separating from the Air Force, Chris continued serving as a civilian for the Department of the Army and the Defense Intelligence Agency working throughout the Balkans and Middle East. Upon his return to the United States, Chris opened a small business in Richmond Virginia that he later sold and shortly after returned to government service with the Defense Logistics Agency.
Since joining DLA, Chris has served in a variety of positions. Prior to being assigned as the Deputy Commander for DLA Europe and Africa, Chris served dual hatted as the Director of Strategic Acquisition Programs and Chief of the Contracting Office (CCO)for DLA Aviation. In this capacity Chris managed a strategic contracting portfolio valued at over $100 billion dollars and led over 500 personnel spread across 6 geographically separated sites. Other assignments at DLA included, Division Chief, Acquisition Systems and Procedures, Strategic Contracting Supervisor, Contracting Officer, and Corporate Contracting Lead.
Chris graduated from Bellevue University, Bellevue NE., with a Bachelor of Arts in business management and a Master of Science in acquisition and contract management. Chris also holds an Executive Certificate in Public Leadership from Harvard’s Kennedy School and is a graduate of Harvard’s Senior Executive Fellows Program. Chris is also a graduate of the Department of Defense’s Executive Leadership and Development Program and has held and unlimited contracting warrant and is a member of Defense Acquisition Corp and holds a Level III Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act Certification in contracting. Mr. Davis has received numerous awards and decorations throughout his career including the Department of Defense Distinguished Civilian Service Award.
Chris is married to Jennifer Davis who hails from Burke, VA and presently leads the Department of Defense Education Activities (DODEA) formal EEO programs and is assigned to Sembach, Germany. They have three children, Skye, Izzie, and Jaxson all of whom are attending school in Germany.
