Around the same time that basketball phenom Stephen Curry won his gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, he dropped a comedy series on Peacock titled Mr. Throwback. Playing a version of himself, Curry is duped into creating a fake charity by his childhood friend Danny (Happy Endings’ Adam Pally). It’s a genuinely funny show that pokes fun at Curry’s celebrity lifestyle and features cameos from NBA figures.

But with just six episodes, fans are left wondering if Mr. Throwback will return for a second season. The story seems fairly wrapped up by the end of season 1, but that doesn’t stop Mr. Throwback from hinting at a potential future. After all is forgiven in the finale, Curry and Danny fly off to Paris for the Olympics. Then Curry teases, “That’s when the story got really, really crazy.” The series also stars Ego Nwodim (Saturday Night Live), Ayden Mayeri (The Afterparty), and Tracy Letts (Ford v Ferrari). But does Curry even have time to film more episodes? And how did he find the time before?

If Mr. Throwback returns, it’s possible that Danny & Co. will get into further shenanigans in Paris. Though the series would likely air at least a year after the conclusion of the Olympics, it would be fun to reminisce—especially if they took advantage of the opportunity to film cameos by star athletes during the Summer Games. Maybe we’d see LeBron James onscreen, or even more Steve Kerr. Though there’s no word yet from Peacock regarding a second season, anything can happen. Curry could even make good on his promise to train the next Air Bud! In my opinion, he should bump that up to his top priority either way.
