As the door closed behind us with a reassuring click, our eyes met. “You’ve got the keys, haven’t you,’’ said my wife, making a statement rather than posing a question.
“I thought you had them,” I replied. “You were the last person out the door.”
“But you always have the keys,’’ she protested.
