Mom guilty of killing daughter

The abuse of the elderly in the Indian community is not being reported to the police because the victims are afraid of being humiliated and embarrassed.

This is according to the lawyer representing Devika Rani Seeripat, a 73-year-old woman who was found guilty of murdering her daughter, Ashrika Seeripat, 42.

Her co-accused, Patrick Mkula, 42, who worked as a gardener for the family, was also found guilty of the murder.
