A grand DAY OUT

It is the morning of the Cricket Club Fun Day, and nobody seems to be having any fun. The doors haven’t opened yet, which is just as well because the secretary and the treasurer are having a brisk exchange of views.

‘I told you the best time to have a spring open day was in the spring,’ said Brian, the treasurer, ‘but nobody listened to me, oh no.’

‘Getting in early seemed a good idea when we discussed it,’ said secretary Steve. ‘We couldn’t have predicted the weather.’
