Holly Willoughby: 'It was weird' This Morning star shocked by THIS Phillip Schofield move
HOLLY WILLOUGHBY, who presents ITV show This Morning, has revealed she was left shock after her co-star Phillip Schofield called in sick ahead of the show yesterday.
This Morning: Holly Willoughby 'I'm all by myself'
This Morning host Holly Willoughby, 38, presented the ITV show alone after her TV sidekick Phillip Schofield, 56, remained home due to an illness. Later that day, she appeared on BBC’s The One Show alone and told hosts Alex Jones and Amol Rajan it was the first time Phil had called in sick in 10 years. Spilling all to the presenters, she said: “Phil rang in, and it’s fine everybody has to have a sick day once in a while, but he has never done it. “It was the first time in my life that he called in sick like in 10 years… the first ever.”
It was weird to be on your own, like you’re used to having someone sat beside you
Holly then told the hosts Phil was “gutted” to be missing their scheduled appearance on The One Show, adding: “He text me saying: ‘I’m really sorry, I really wanted to do The One Show with you I’m so sorry.’”
She added: “This is big for him not to be here.”
Alex then told the mother-of-three she watched Holly present alone on This Morning and thought: “Where’s Phil?”
Holly replied: “It was weird to be on your own, like you’re used to having someone sat beside you and suddenly the seat next to you feels very spacious.
“There was no-one there to ad-lib with or have a chat, I missed him.”
Amol then joked that Holly won’t feel lonely anymore as Keith Urban was set to join her on the sofa.
Holly replied: “That’ll do, that’s fine.”
Ahead of her solo presenting stint, Holly spoke out on future family plans just weeks after leaving her endorsement with Diet Coke.
After attending the MSC Bellissima naming ceremony last weekend she revealed she would love to take her family on a cruise.
Spilling all to Hello! Magazine, she said: “Having been here today, it's something I would think about.
“I thought you might get a bit of cabin fever and not a lot to do, but I didn’t realise just how much choice there is and also you don't understand the scale of a ship and there is loads for them to do."
Holly Willoughby admits she 'loves' Gemma Collins
Holly has three children Harry, nine, Belle, seven, and four-year-old Chester with her spouse Dan Baldwin.
Last month, the blonde beauty parted ways with Diet Coke, in which she reportedly earned £450,000 for her endorsement deal.
Holly promoted the likes of Diet Coke’s Exotic Mango as part of their new selection of flavours last year.
Diet Coke confirmed they will not be working with her on this year’s campaign, but didn’t rule out a potential collaboration in the future.
They told Express.co.uk: “We’ve loved working with Holly for the last two years and she’s been a great ambassador for Diet Coke.
“For this year’s campaign we have no plans to work with Holly but that’s not to say we wouldn't work together again in the future.”
