Following the death of TV chef Gary Rhodes a plethora of celebrity tributes have poured in on Twitter. The chef died at the age of 59 in Dubai with his wife, Jennie, by his side.
Gordon Ramsay tweeted: "We lost a fantastic chef today in Gary Rhodes. He was a chef who put British Cuisine on the map. Sending all the love and prayers to your wife and kids. You’ll be missed Gx."
Saturday Kitchen's James Martin tweeted: "Hugely influential in my life and the life of the British food scene. Gent and genius...RIP Gary, I can’t believe you’re gone."
Michelin star chef Daniel Clifford posted: “Rest in peace a true British classic Gary Rhodes you open the door for so many young English cooks.”
Celebrity chef Ainsley Harriott wrote: "So sad to hear the news about Gary Rhodes. A true culinary icon and a lovely man. Sending my love and thoughts to his wife Jennie and their boys. RIP, my friend. xx"
Actor Stuart Antony posted a photo of the late Rhodes along with: “RIP Gary Rhodes: Celebrity chef dies in Dubai, aged 59.”
Jamie Oliver posted on Instagram: "Sadly Chef Gary Rhodes OBE passed away. My heart felt sympathies to his wife, kids, friends and family, sending love and thoughts ..... Gary was a fantastic chef and incredible ambassador for British cooking, he was a massive inspiration to me as a young chef. He reimagined modern British cuisine with elegance and fun. rest in peace Chef."
The Restaurant star Gary O Hanlon tweeted: “Ah no. The inspiration for many a good dinner and bad hair cut in my youth (and still today) Gary Rhodes and Floyd were always on the TV at home when I was a kid. Gone too soon. #RIP.”
A statement from Rhodes' family read: "The Rhodes family are deeply saddened to announce the passing of beloved husband, father and brother, Gary Rhodes OBE.
"Gary passed away last evening, Tuesday 26th November 2019, at the age of 59, with his beloved wife Jennie by his side.
A statement from the hotel where he operated a restaurant in Dubai said: "The team at Grosvenor House Dubai and Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort and Spa are devastated to hear of the tragic passing of Chef Gary Rhodes OBE.
"Not only has the industry lost a true culinary legend, we have also lost an inspirational human being and a very dear friend.
"No words can express our sadness at Gary’s death or our gratitude for the opportunity to work with him. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Rhodes family."

Gary also appeared on Strictly Come Dancing and was partnered with Karen Hardy back in 2008.
He became the third contestant to be voted off the BBC dance competition after former judge Arlene Phillips described his footwork as “flat as a pancake”.
Rock Oyster Media and Goldfinch TV released a statement regarding Gary's passing.
The statement said: "Gary was in the middle of filming a wonderful new series with Rock Oyster Media for ITV from his base in Dubai.
"Gary was taken ill very suddenly at home during a break in filming and died a short time afterwards.
